Oil Jefe's Turkey Burgers

Oil Jefe's Turkey Burgers

30 Minutes

10 Minutes

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 4 – 1/4 inch slices of butternut squash
  • 5 whole eggs
  • 2 Tbsp Italian flat leaf parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Jalapeno cherry bomb Oil Jefe
  • tsp salt & pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Muenster cheese
  • 4 thin slices of red onion
  • 4 crusty buns
  • 8 thin slices of salami

  1. Place the turkey in a mixing bowl and add chopped parsley, 1 egg (raw), salt & pepper, JCB Oiljefe and cumin and mix well.
  2. Split mixture into 4 – 1/4 lb patties.
  3. Turn cook top on to medium heat and Sear the patties in a cast iron pan (this is needed to achieve the optimal coloring and to keep the burgers juicy). once the patties are to the desired color, remove from heat and place on a baking sheet.
  4. Place the cast iron pan back on low/medium heat and add a Tbsp of olive oil, then cook the butternut squash till golden brown and soft (but not mushy, we still want a bit of crunch)
  5. Lay out the salami slices on a bake tray and cook for 3 minutes at 350 F.
  6. Place the cooked butternut squash slices & salami on top of the turkey patties and cook in the oven for 5 mins at 350 F (177 C).
  7. While the burgers are cooking slice the muenster cheese (I like these thicker than normal because the cheese really melts and covers the burger). After the 5 mins of cooking add the cheese and switch oven to broil until the cheese is melted. Remove from oven and let rest.
  8. During the resting time it's best to cook the eggs and butter your buns. I prefer a fried egg that still has a medium firmness of the egg, however cook it the way you prefer.
  9. Place your burger on the bun and put the egg on top.
  10. Dress your burger however you like but i can assure you that a little bit more of Oiljefe on the bun is all you need ;) .
    Thats it! time to eat.
